VP/Head of Global Medical Affairs, Immunology

THE ASSIGNMENT.

To assist the Chief Medical Officer in recruiting a Head of Immunology to support a newly acquired product with multiple indications.

THE CHALLENGE.

We had partnered with this company for years, so our knowledge of the team and organization was strong. The company worked on the search for 6 months before asking us for additional support. The focus was to recruit a a Clinician to drive medical affairs strategy for a newly acquired asset ($4B) with multiple Immunology indications. The goal was to find a Physician who had developed and executed a global medical affairs strategy with a focus on launch readiness and experience in Immunology. This candidate needed to be in Cambridge and needed experience managing a team of MDs and PhD's in a cross-functional environment.

THE OUTCOME.

We were able to identify an MD with Global Clinical Development and Medical Affairs experience who had led Immunology, Dermatology, and Ophthalmology medical teams. This candidate had a strong background in product launches as well as growing pipelines and indication expansion. They understood the complex challenges in the newly acquired asset and knew how to develop a strategy and team to support its growth. The candidate also fit in with the corporate culture and relocated to Cambridge.
