Senior Director, Technical Operations & Manufacturing Counsel
THE ASSIGNMENT.
Partnered with a long-standing client to continue their in-house attorney growth. A new position was created as they were seeking an experienced attorney to provide strategic counsel on technical operations, manufacturing, quality, & supply chain matters, with additional exposure to R&D. The candidate also had to possess significant experience leading a team and working with outside manufacturers, vendors and other key stakeholders.
THE CHALLENGE.
This position required a highly specialized and unique skill set that only a handful of attorneys possess. The search for such a niche candidate possessing substantial technical operations , manufacturing, and supply chain expertise within the biopharmaceutical industry coupled with leadership experience and a strong business acumen to eventually lead the Technical Operations & Quality legal team, posed an exciting challenge.
THE OUTCOME.
Within three weeks, we submitted three qualified candidates, one of whom was the person that accepted the job. The selected candidate had over 20 years of biopharma legal experience, specializing in providing transactional and operational legal support for multiple commercial biopharmaceutical companies. Her expertise spanned business & corporate development, R&D, global manufacturing, and external supply chains, distribution, and procurement. Following a series of interviews and the negotiation process, our Client’s internal leadership recognized the value that this candidate would immediately bring to the organization, and as a result, decided to allocate additional funds to elevate the role to a Senior Director position.
