Case Study
VP, IR, Corporate Communications & Strategy
THE ASSIGNMENT.
Our client, a privately held, European headquartered, life sciences tools and instruments company, retained our services to help recruit their first internal Investor Relations, Strategy and Communications Leadership hire. They had just raised over $90M in series D financing and needed someone who could play an important part as they prepare for an IPO in the US.
THE CHALLENGE.
Utilizing our subject matter expertise, we partnered with the CEO on title, creation of the job description, qualifications, required skills, and educated ourselves on the Executives’ personalities and the soft skill to match - all of which were equally important to them in this hire. The Executive Leadership team members were passionate about the company and technology, but had never worked at a publicly traded company and needed an individual to be the Investor Relations expert in communicating their story to investors.
THE OUTCOME.
Our sourcing strategy casted a wide net, but also pinpointed a few individuals with Investor Relations experience within publicly traded scientific instruments companies. This yielded an excellent Vice President, Investor Relations, Communication and Strategy hire for our client. Our candidate had over 20 years of industry experience, a close relationships with Investors, and a network of people that they could connect our client to.
