Case Study

Head of Investor Relations

THE ASSIGNMENT.

Our client, a publicly traded, commercial stage Oncology company, needed support filling their Head of Investor Relations role. As a company with exciting milestones on the horizon, they needed someone at the helm of Investor Relations to properly tell the company’s story to the investment community.

THE CHALLENGE.

Our client received approval of their first commercialized product, a first and only treatment of its kind, in early 2020. The timing of the launch was amid the COVID-19 pandemic and did not get the recognition that it needed from Wall Street. Throughout 2020, they expanded their strong Executive team - which included a new CFO. The new CFO needed someone who could help increase investor sentiment to reflect the company’s dynamic work and exciting pipeline.

THE OUTCOME.

Our client chose us as a partner because of our dedicated Investor Relations recruitment team and proven success in the field. We immediately sourced a candidate from our network that seemed to check all the boxes, but we continued our due diligence by speaking with another pool of qualified comparators. After evaluating various backgrounds, our client found the right fit in our first candidate. This person had a mix of Wall Street and internal biotech Investor Relations experience, a track record of partnerships with CEO, CFO, and investors, combined with loyalty and stability in their career. In the end, our client felt this candidate would deliver the presence they need as they grow in 2022.
